It wont add cat ears or make you look airbrushed, it just offers a slight adjustment to compensate for what is lost through a camera. Check the box next to “touch up my appearance.” DO IT. I have a Mac and still prefer the sound my microphone brings.ĥ) A silicone keyboard cover and/or a wireless keyboard you can sit in your lap or further away from your microphone than your laptop keyboard might be will greatly reduce the noise if you have to type during the hearing or meeting. And remember that other participants may not have good speakers. If you have a newer Mac, the microphone is probably pretty good, as are the speakers, so you might be able to forego this but TEST it. If you have a family member who can join you in a zoom-meeting from another room, test the sound. Play with the location of your microphone and make sure it is in a stable place where it won't wobble. Something like the Blue Yeti is affordable and easy to set up. This microphone doesn't have to be recording-studio level or expensive. I have found this to be true nothing is worse than struggling to hear someone or having feedback and noise in your meeting. A videographer friend of mine once told me that viewers will forgive poor video but they will not forgive poor audio. Under preferences in zoom, there is an option for “dual monitors.” I won’t go into all of the details here on how to set this up, there are plenty of articles to be found through a Google search but I highly recommend it.Ģ) A microphone and possibly, Bluetooth headphones or earbuds. Zoom doesn’t have a “green room” feature like other platforms such as Crowdcast. Once you are on, you are on.
